How do I describe my self? Well, it depends on who I am speaking to. My clients want to know about my experience in counseling. So I tell them about my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, my experience counseling clients with sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, mood disorders, relationship problems and psychotic disorders. I tell them I am a Christian and have experienced depression, abuse, and recovery. I am an optimist that sees the glass 1/4 FULL and believe that as long as someone is alive there is always hope for healing. My friends want to know that I am available for support, fun or lunch anytime they need me. My family wants to know that I am there for encouragement, food, and babysitting. I am very flexible and have been blessed with many experiences that have taught me to live in the present with the knowledge my actions will impact the future. I can honestly say that I have been blessed with an alcoholic father and co-dependent mother. I have learned how to love unconditionally and accept everyone for who they are at that moment. That is not to say I don't experience negative emotions or never meet someone who irritates me. I am very human and am always asking God to help me overcome my challenges. I have spent my life time trying to be transparent and genuine (it takes too much energy to be otherwise). So, if there is anything you want to know about me, just ask.

Learning New Things
I am a student by nature. I do not like school, but I love learning. I hate having to prove what I know; but I love learning about everything. My mother (a very wise woman) once told me "Knowledge should be worn like a watch." I have not always followed that advice. Sometimes my enthusiasm for knowledge spills out and I splash it on others as unwanted advice. But, I am learning! I have started this blog as a new area for my learning. I am learning to navigate the technical aspects and expect to have a lot of fun figuring it out. This may also be a way to control the splashing of knowledge. Only those interested will be exposed to my new knowledge (well, maybe). I also enjoy teaching. And sharing my knowledge with those interested will satisfy this side of me. So if you are interested, come on this journey with me and lets see what we can learn!
